i love you

I loiter in a prestigious 5 star hotel cafe where I await for him to finish his shift during this high noon day, with a cup of earl grey tea I reflect on the journey so far from the start of the year. Impressed, I smiled and acknowledged my achievements so far.

I remember the end of last year while in Perth, I ambled across some park in the chill summer evening breeze ruminating on my new year resolution 'What was mine?', I mentally listed a set of goals, published it on this blog with the intention to review at the end of the year. Previous years of experience, my goals have either not been realistic or I didn't have the motivation to persevere to complete my goals of resolution. This year kicked off, with my university settled, shortly with a part-time job as a personal assistant and a boyfriend a month down the track.

"...only 4 months since I've known you, but you matter so much to me... I'd give you my everything" I hear these words murmured as I stared into his eyes as he says to me "I love you" for the first time. A mixture of emotion sweeps me, unsure how to bear the apparent mien at the time. Expect the unexpected as I would always say, but that stunned me and I smiled to respond to him in the same manner. Four short months and I've fallen head over heels...
